The "Swing Company Wiesbaden", founded in 1993, plays swing mainly to standards popular from the Thirties to the Sixties. It is the kind of swing, that was played by famous orchestras like Count Basie, Benny Goodman, Glenn Miller, Ray Conniff and Bert Kaempfert. Evergreens, rare swingarrangements and melodies from musicals and movies - also in Latin Sound - are the base of a large repertoire.

The "Swing Company Wiesbaden" enjoys to bring the bigband-​live-​music to a large audience, which is not very common nowadays. Especially the bigband-​jazz still has friends, and there are still a lot of good musicians out there playing it. But we are also trying to attract a wider audience with this music, because we think, it is timeless and shouldn´t be forgotten.

The group, which is lead by "Fritz" Mattke from Wiesbaden-​Naurod, has about 20 members of the Rhein-​Main-​Area in the center of Germany, most of them are from Wiesbaden.

The "Swing Company Wiesbaden" plays an easy-​listening music which appeals to young and old. Sometimes the audience is dancing while the band plays the popular swing-​music that makes us all smile.

Though we are already a "big"-band, we would be happy to hear from anyone who would like to join us, because ocasionally members must leave us or are not able to take part in a performance for personal reasons.
